What Hub Do I Need for My Sailboat Trailer that Both Bearings Have Inner Diameter of 1"?

Updated 07/07/2025 | Published 06/25/2025

Question:

I have a sailboat trailer with axle 1 in diameter for seal B and bearings C and D. The 1 length before the threads at the end of the axle is 4.25. Would you please verify that AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-1K is the right assembly? The sailboat weighs just under 700 lb. Thank you!

Hello Alan,

Yes, the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles - 4 on 4 - Pre-Greased # AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-1K is the correct hub for you since both of your bearings need an inner diameter of 1".

What kind of sailboat do you have? Do you have a favorite lake or ocean near by you like to take it out on? I do not have a sailboat but I do have a bass boat that we take out A LOT here in Missouri at the Lake of the Ozarks and Mark Twain Lake. Being out on the water is my happy place!

Thank you, Amy! The boat is a Lightning and many lakes in Michigan make for good sailing, even the great lakes... Here is a link to the drawing that shows B, C and D from my question for reference (https://www.etrailer.com/question-649041.html).

@AlanK The closest thing we have is the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles - 4 on 4 - Pre-Greased # AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-1K. I would double check your "d" measurement as the grease seal has a 1.249" inner diameter. They do not make a hub with a grease seal with a true 1" seal.
