Hello Bill, thanks for reaching out. The Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution # RE94FR weighs 98 lbs all together. Most WD hitches weigh between 80-100 lbs.

This particular system, the Reese # RE94FR should be used on trailers with a tongue weight between 400-800 lbs. Ideally your trailers tongue weight would fall right in the middle of that range like 600 lbs.

What kind of trailer do you have? Do you know the GVWR or loaded tongue weight?

I do not have the camper yet...I am doing the research to make sure the truck can handle it and everything adds up including the WDH. I am looking at a Flagstaff MICRO LITE 21FBRS. They only appear to list the UVW tongue weight at 557 which is pretty much irrelevant. It appears that the GVWR is 5837 which buys the tongue weight at about 724lbs...I use 12.4% to calculated tongue weight.

@BillL Ok nice sounds like you are on top of it! You are right the unloaded tongue weight doesn't really matter since that doesn't factor in batteries and propane and stuff. 724 lbs seems like a fairly accurate figure since tongue weight should be between 10% 15% of the total weight. Loading up the trailer and taking it to a weigh station, or using a tongue weight scale like part # BTBRV44FR are the best ways to accurately determine your tongue weight. Once you know that, you can select a WD hitch. Based on what you are saying, the # RE94FR might be slightly under-rated but it will be close. You may need to bump it up to the # RE44FR which is for 600 lb to 1,150 lb tongue weight. In fact, I think we can safely say at this point the # RE44FR would be a good call.

@JesseM OK..thanks much for the information . Your recommendation makes sense. But I think weissed the original question. What would the RE44DR weigh? Might seem like a minor detail but it all adds up. I am looking at a Ford F150 Lariat and I am trying to make sure I have a decent buffer in the payload number. THANKS!
