Does a 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 5'7" Bed Need a Slider Fifth Wheel Hitch

Question:
I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 5'7" bed. I am buying a Keystone Cougar 28SGS 5th wheel trailer. Do I need a sliding hitch?

Hey Jennifer, that short of a bed you would definitely need a slider hitch. You'd actually need a slider that move more than a standard hitch because of that. The only option for that would be the Demco Hijacker Autoslide part # DM95TV which comes with the needed rail kit too. This hitch automatically slides back 22-1/2 inches which is about twice as much as a standard hitch.
Only way around a slider hitch would be if the hitch happened to have a Sidewinder pin box which pivots. It could also be called a Reese Revolution.
