Hello Jerry, thanks for reaching out. It is possible to install a 18K Chill Cube unit in your 5th wheel. The only way to do this will be to replace the entire AC system so your rooftop unit, controller, distribution box and thermostat. The Chill Cube only works with other Chill Cube components so this will be a necessary step. For that, I recommend the following:
- Furrion Chill Cube RV AC w Air Distribution Box, Thermostat - Ducted - 18,000 Btu - White # FR69TD
This will come with everything you need to fully replace/upgrade your AC system. You get your rooftop unit, controller, distribution box and thermostat. The wall thermostat will control the AC as well as your furnace. This setup will work on ducted RVs.
The Chill Cube really will be a nice upgrade from your old unit. It will cool much more effectively and efficiently. It has a variable speed compressor and multi stage startup which really helps keep the power draw down.
Are you planning to install this yourself? Or will you be taking it somewhere?
