Question:

I have ordered a BX4370 Ascent Tow bar, a BLU4370 Patriot Brake system, a BLU97XR Base Plate, and a few other items to flat tow my 2025 Ford Bronco. My vehicle is a 2025 Ford Bronco Outer Banks with Standard plastic bumper with Tow Hooks No D-Rings. Automatic 10 speed transmission and 2.7L Ecoboost. I have currently ordered the BX8848 4-Diode wiring kit, a BX88400 Brake-Lite Relay kit, and a RM 68MR Stop Light Switch Kit. Can one of your smart people tell me if these are the correct items I need? If these are incorrect, please provide correct part numbers. If I need additional items, please include part numbers for those also. My outstanding order number is 122743036. Thank You

Hello James,

Happy to confirm the parts for your 2025 Ford Bronco with factory plastic bumper that has tow hooks, but NO D-Rings.

- Base Plate: Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BLU97XR since you do not have D-Rings this will work.

- Tow Bar: Blue Ox Ascent Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 7,500 lbs # BX4370 rated high enough, and works with base pate

- Braking System: Blue Ox Patriot Portable Flat Tow Brake System - Proportional # BLU37TR great choice

- Wiring: Blue Ox 4-Diode Universal Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # BX8848, then with the Blue Ox Accessory Kit for Ascent, Avail, and Apollo Tow Bars and 2" Hitch Receivers # BLU64TR- this will have the 6 way for the front of the vehicle.

Great package you put together! The only thing that I would add that I suggest with every flat tow set-up is the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25. This is that PEACE OF MIND part that your battery will not be dead in your Bronco when you arrive to your destination.

Thank you so much Kate. I will be ordering the Battery Charge Line Kit today. Makes perfect sense. I missed it. First adventure ......... thinking Mesa Verde, CO then Moab, UT when it cools down a little.

@KateF, why would the battery possibly be dead at the end of the flat tow? isn't the ignition turned off during the trip?

@Rick It depends on the year, make, and model. Most of the time you need to be in the accessory mode when flat towing, that is why certain things will drain the battery. I recommend the # RM-156-25 in all my flat tow set-ups, I prefer to call in peace of mind than a charge line kit =)
