Can I Use A Weight Distribution Hitch On My 2025 Chevy Blazer Ev?

Updated 06/16/2025 | Published 06/11/2025

Question:

I installed the Drawtite hitch on my 2025 Blazer EV. What stresses does a WDH cause the unibody this hitch is attached to when towing a 2300 Braxton Creek Bushwhacker 15RD? https://youtu.be/8l9q14jzXP4?si=cca6sg4HFu0RYeYw Vid of installation

Hey Dan,

Along with the Draw-Tite hitch, which is not rated for use with a weight distribution hitch, I looked up your 25' Blazer Ev and it is also not a vehicle rated for use with a weight distribution hitch. Weight distribution hitches are meant for body-on-frame vehicles that have a separate frame that can handle the forces from a weight distribution hitch. Unibody style vehicles that are all in one cannot handle those same weights and forces.

Are you noticing a lot of sway or sag in the rear of your vehicle when you tow?

The Drawtite hitch you sell for Blazer EV is rated to tow 3500 lbs with 10% weight down on the hitch tongue?

@Dan Correct, the Draw-Tite hitch # DT86KV is rated for 3500lbs towing and 350lbs of tongue weight. Both the hitch and the vehicle are not rated for use with a weight distribution hitch.
