hello Im considering getting a weight distribution hitch. Could you recommend one? I have a 2023 gmc sierra 1500 at4x and a 2023 jayco 284 bhs travel trailer with a tongue weight of 980 lbs and trailer weighs 6500 lbs.

That's quite a bit of tongue weight for a 6,500 lbs trailer Juan. For a weight distribution system, I recommend the Blue Ox SwayPro item # BLU66FR. This system works with tongue weights between 700 lbs - 1,000 lbs so it'll be perfect for your Jayco travel trailer.

The SwayPro item # BLU66FR has chain style frame hangers and built-in sway control. The sway control feature will help keep your trailer in line with your Sierra when you're traveling down the road and make a sudden lane change or encounter a strong gust of wind.

Please note that the lift-brackets mount about 29" back from the center of coupler. You'll want to make sure there are no obstructions on your trailer's tongue in this area.

Will it work well with an underslung coupler?

@Juan That one won't but the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control item # BXW1003 is specially designed for trailer's with underslung couplers. It has the same capacity and features.

@JerredH The 29" from the center coupler are right behind the propane tank cover. Will the lift brackets mount good there? If not can you recommend another WDH.
