Best Replacement For Optronics S2T216AP2 Driver Side Tail Light

Updated 06/02/2025 | Published 05/26/2025

Question:

I have a optronics S2T216AP2 with the plug on it. On my boat trailer. The drivers side is out. Can you recommend a replacement. I can’t seem to find that exact part number. I have no problem with splice one if I need to. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello George, thanks for reaching out. From what I've found online, the LED Tail Light for Trailers # STL17RB is the recommended drivers side replacement for the S2T216AP2. This is a 8-1/16" long x 2-7/8" tall x 2-13/16" deep tail light. You can see what it looks like in the picture below.

Does this match what you have? We have the passenger side # STL16RB available too if you want them to match. These lights do not come with plugs though, so they will need to be wired in and you will want to use heat shrink butt connectors.

Hit the reply button below and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

Can you tell me the size of the heat shrink butt connectors for that light or link them for me please.

@GeorgeJ Those are 16 gauge wire so a butt connector like part # DW05744-5 will work great.

This looks more like the size. STL0067RPG What do you think about that. Is it compatible with the optronics S2T216AP2

@GeorgeJ Yes that light is similar. It is 7-3/4" long x 3-1/8" tall x 2-7/8" deep overall so if that plug matches what you have those will definitely work as a substitute for the S2T216AP2. Can you confirm the plug is the same?
