Question:
Hello, I have a question please. I own a 2023 Toyota RAV4 Adventure Trim... Ive bought several items from ETRAILER before... love the site... So, with my RAV4 I can tow 3,500lbs and has a 350lb tounge rating... Im curious about the articulating hitches for my Tear off grid camper, my camper is 1,950lbs dry weight and 2,250lbs GWVR.... how do I know which articulating hitch works best for me, Ive only recently heard about these hitches. Are they better and safer for offroad usage, thank you soo much for your help, again love this site

Hey Donnie! An articulating coupler like the # 336TS510 is definitely safe to use. I don't know about other brands, but the Lock N Roll is incredibly secure so that isn't a concern. If you're off-roading with the trailer then an articulating hitch is definitely the way to go. Your standard coupler won't allow the trailer to move like it needs to over rough terrain so it will keep you from damaging the trailer.
To use this system you will also need the vehicle side hitch like the # 336VS503505. Both parts are rated for a 11,000 lbs max trailer weight/1,100 lbs max tongue weight so they will be able to handle your camper. There isn't any particular fitment requirement so as long as you don't exceed the weight rating you're set. If you have any other questions feel free to reply below.
