Do I Have Correct Track Hangers on My 2022 Keystone Outback URS, How can I Gain Ground Clearance?

Updated 05/15/2025 | Published 05/13/2025

Question:

I have a 2022 Keystone Outback URS with the pictured spring and leveler hangers. Judging from the shape of the factory hangers, I assume the Correct Track alignment and lift kit will not fit my application. Looks to me that the upturned edge of the hangars will prevent the alignment plates from bolting down flush. Can you confirm? Is there an alternative that would work for me, or would I need to replace the hangers altogether?

Hello Aaron,

Thank you for the pictures. Yes, you are correct the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit - Tandem Axle # RR23QX will not work for you since your trailer is not equipped with the Correct Track Hangers.

If you are looking to gain more ground clearance, I suggest the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00 if you axles are 3,500 or 2-3/8" axle, if you have 5,200-7K axles or that measure 3" you will want the # K71-385-00. I attached a video that my buddy Kevin put together, he does a fantastic job explaining how it all works.

I do not have a database that supplies me with what is put on what camper, so you will need to check the axle tag, or measure the axle. You will need 1 kit per axle.

Is that what you were trying to do, gain more ground clearance?

Thanks, Kate -- yes, aiming for more ground clearance as well as ensuring axle alignment. This trailer is already a spring over axle so that's not really an option. Being a front toy hauler, the trailer design moved the axles farther back than normal and has a bunch of weight on the back end (rear slide, water tank) to compensate for having motorcycles or a quad stored in the front. However, we run it empty and as a result of only being equipped with 3500lb axles, it's overloaded, and has been eating tires. The lift is part of a number of changes I'm making to try and get it working correctly. I don't see a lot of other cost effective options out there -- as you can see, the factory hangers are already pretty tall.

@AaronE Ya, I don't see that being a cheap fix. Sounds like you might want to swap out the axles for 5,200 pound. Might be expensive to get it re-done, but I am sure you will save money in tires in the long run.
