Updated 05/14/2025 | Published 05/08/2025

Question:

I have a C51180 on a 2019 Ford Ranger and it seems to be working, however I cant make any changes to power and sensitivity. The instructions say to press the edit button , but when I do, the display dims and nothing happens.

Hey Richard,

You want to make sure to start that when you plug the echo into your truck the light is flashing blue. If it is, go ahead and connect to the one control app. It is important that you do that before you plug the trailer into the echo. Once connected to the app you can go ahead and plug the trailer in which should turn that flashing blue light green.

Once you get that light flashing green you can go into the trailer profile on the app and be able to adjust the output and sensitivity settings like it states in the instructions.

Let me know if this works for you. If you are still having issues let me know and I can continue to troubleshoot for you.

I was to the point where the light was flashing green and I could go into the profile, I just could not make any changes. I had reinstalled the app but it made no difference. I happened to be in the process of getting a new phone, so I waited, then tried the new one and it worked! Go figure.

@RichardD Well I don't know of a better example of perfect timing than that! I am glad you were able to get it working though. Out of curiosity, what phone were you trying it on that was having the issues? Would be good information to pass along to my team and Curt about certain phones possibly causing those issues.
