Base Plate and Wiring for 2024 Bronco Badlands With Demco Tow Bar With Blue Ox Adapter

Updated 09/26/2025 | Published 04/30/2025

Question:

1. I purchased a titanium 48” extension for flat towing my Jeep behind my Silverado dually with an Artic Fox camper. I am using it at the 41” length. I am switching to a Bronco which weighs 5500 lbs. The Titan bar is rated at 7500 lbs with a weight distribution hitch. Can I use 7500 as the capacity for the tow bar when flat towing? 2. I need a base plate and wiring for the Bronco (2024 Badlands). I have the etrailer Demco towbar with blue ox couplers. Bronco has the steel heavy duty bumper. What do I order?

Hey Rob! First of all no, unfortunately you can only get that 7,500 lb rating by using a WDH which won't work with a flat tow setup. You will have to find a different extension that works with that setup. If a SuperHitch Original or Magnum is available for your truck the # TLE1548 would do it, that is the only other option I know of.

Looking back you have the etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e67ZR. This will be compatible with the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU23XR. For wiring you can use the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-15267. If you need anything else let me know in the comments below.

Hey Rob! Did you find a suitable extension for flat towing your Bronco, or did you go with the SuperHitch option? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you, as it could help others in a similar situation.
