Question:
i have an e2 fastway hitch that came with my trailer. my trailer hitch weight is 366 lbs and GVWR is 5000. i just got a new truck and can just barely open the tailgate. my existing shank measurement from hole to hole is 8 inches. id like a couple of more inches of clearance. can i use any brand shank with the E2 fastway weight distribution hitch?

Hey Denis! The Fastway e2 is compatible with most other shanks, but not all. They use the standard shank on their systems so as long as the dimensions match it won't be a problem. Do you have a 2" receiver? If so, you can use the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank - 18" Long - 7" Rise, 3" Drop # EQ90-02-4500 (Equal-i-zer actually makes Fastway). This will give you the extra clearance you need.

Hey Denis, did the Equal-i-zer shank you purchased provide the extra clearance you needed for your truck's tailgate? I'm curious to know if it worked out, as it could help others in a similar situation.
