Towing a Gooseneck Trailer with a 2019 Ram 2500 Puck System That Doesn't Have Center Puck

Updated 09/26/2025 | Published 04/23/2025

Question:

I have a 2019 Ram 2500 that came with the puck system for the 5th wheel mount but does not have the gooseneck hitch installed. Can I fit the BandW Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck hitch on my truck with the existing factory 5th wheel puck system. Thanks!

Hey Scott, it's good to hear from you again!

I have a great alternative solution for you, but since your 2019 Ram 2500 already has a puck system, there won't be a way to add a center gooseneck hitch ball receiver.

Instead, you can use the Curt Adapter Rails # C29BR along with the Weigh Safe Safe Load Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # WS24ZR. There is the Gen-Y Combo Hitch # GY53AV that does both 5th wheel and gooseneck towing, but since you have a short bed you'll need to still use a sliding 5th wheel hitch for your 5th wheel trailer.

I know this might not be the solution you're looking for, but it's the best option you have for your setup.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hey Scott, did you find the Curt Adapter Rails and Weigh Safe Gooseneck Hitch to be a good fit for your Ram? I'm interested to know how it worked out for you, as it could help others with a similar setup.
