Recommended Anti-Rattle Device For Trailer Towing

Question:

Does the trailer hitch tighteners work to also help reduce rattle with a trailer? The examples given are for accessories using a trailer hitch.

Hello Ralph, thanks for reaching out. The Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches # 63232 technically could be used when pulling a trailer but you would have to be using a ball mount with a 2" hollow shank. The problem is virtually every 2" ball mount has a hollow shank. So while it technically could work, it might not really be applicable to trailer towing.

For an anti-rattle device that can go on a trailer, a better option is the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Stabilizer for 2" Hitches # e99007. You just tighten down the nuts and the plate puts tension on the ball mount and help eliminate rattle.
