What is the Backspacing on the Vesper Steel Modular Trailer Wheel MX34FR?

The 15x5 mx34fr wheel shows an answer stating 0” offset and 3” of backspacing ,if the offset is 0 wouldn’t the backspacing be 2.5” since it’s a 5” wide wheel?

Hey Jeffrey! I had to look this up because I thought the same thing you did. Wheel offset is similar to backspacing and refers to the location of a wheel's rim in relation to the wheel's center. Most trailer wheels have a 0 offset, like item # MX34FR. When you measure from the mounting surface of the wheel, where it mounts to the hub, to the outside of the bead is the backspacing. Offset is going to be measured from the mounting surface to the inside of the bead.
Therefore the backspacing is 3" for the Vesper Steel Modular Trailer Wheel - 15" x 5" - 5 on 4-1/2 - Black item # MX34FR.
