Hello Alan,

I am sorry to hear that moisture got into your camera somehow. Since your Voyager backup camera # VGR84VR is showing a distorted image and you’ve spotted some moisture inside the housing, there’s still hope before tossing it and buying a new one. First, if you can, try removing the camera from its mount so you can get a closer look. Check around the edges and seals for any cracks, gaps, or worn-out gaskets, that’s usually how moisture sneaks in.

To dry it out, you’ve got a few easy options. One of the simplest is to stick the camera in a sealed container with uncooked rice or a bunch of silica gel packets, just leave it there for a day or two and let those moisture magnets do their thing. If you’re in a hurry, you can use a hair dryer on low heat, just keeping it moving so you don’t overheat anything. Or if the weather’s nice, placing it in direct sunlight for a few hours can help naturally evaporate the moisture (just don’t leave it out too long to avoid UV damage).

Once it’s dry, go ahead and reinstall it, then check the image. If it still looks funky like weird colors, blurry patches, or water spots inside the lens the internal sensor might be damaged, and at that point, a replacement could be your best bet.

Let me know how the tricks worked and it you were able to get it working again.

Kate, I found your answer after doing a search for this exact problem on our 2021 Micro Minnie with a Voyager camera. Based on your response, I took the unit down and opened it up. It was very easy to dry everything out and clean it up. There was also a desiccant packet inside the camera, so I put that in our dehydrator for a little while and then put it back in when it was reassembly time. This solved my problem and the image is quality has been restored. Just thought I would share my results. God bless.
