Question:
I have a 2600 pound pop up camper I am pulling with my 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. Which airbags would you suggest to help with sag in the rear? Also would you recommend a weight distribution hitch? I was told that you can’t use one with a pop up camper. Thank you!

Happy to help you get the parts needed to eliminate that rear sag on your 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. For suspension support, I recommend the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TDVRRT. These install inside the rear coil springs and provide a maintenance-free solution that helps keep your vehicle level when towing or carrying a heavy load.
As for a weight distribution hitch, it’s not that you can’t use one with a pop-up camper it really depends on your trailer’s setup. The key questions are whether there’s enough room on your A-frame to mount the spring bar brackets, and if the trailer sits high enough off the ground to allow proper clearance for the spring bars. If those factors check out, your best option would be the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System with 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37040ET, and to attach the ball you will need the Thin Walled Socket for Equal-i-zer Hitches # EQ70-00-4800. It’s rated for 4,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 400 lbs tongue weight, which is ideal for your pop-up camper. Since your trailer weighs around 2,600 lbs, your tongue weight should be in the 260 to 390 lb range well within the hitch’s capacity.
To confirm compatibility, place the camper on level ground and measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler; you’ll need a minimum of 18.5 inches for the hitch to work properly. Also, check your A-frame to ensure there’s enough room to install the brackets, which need to be positioned 27 to 32 inches back from the center of the coupler. I’ve attached an image for reference.
Let me know what kind of measurements you come up with, hopefully this will work for you!

Hey, what did you find when you measured the coupler height and checked the A-frame space on your pop-up camper? Once you have those numbers, it’ll be easier to confirm if the Equal-i-zer hitch will fit your setup. Let me know what you find—I’m here if you need a hand narrowing it down.
