Can a Ductless Furrion Chill Cube be Used with a Ducted Trailer

Updated 10/22/2025 | Published 03/26/2025

Question:

Can I use a ductless furrion chill cube 18kbtu on an rv that has ducts, and a heater uses the thermostat? I dont really want to use the ducts, because when I do, dont get much flow through them, and think directly blowing into the room will probably cool better.

Hey David! Furrion was actually in house not too long ago and they told us that if you have ducts you need to use a ducted unit. The ductless and ducted Furrion Chill Cube's are physically different from eachother so you can't just use one or the other.

So since you have ducts, you are going to need the Furrion Chill Cube RV AC w/ Air Distribution Box, Thermostat # FR49TD.

This kit is going to work with ducted setups, includes everything you need for a complete install, and has an 18,000 btu rating. If you need anything else, please feel free to drop a comment and let me know!

Hey David, how did things go with the Furrion Chill Cube for your ducted setup? Did the airflow and cooling performance meet your expectations? Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same issue.
