Recommended Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit for a Trailer w/ 7k Axles

Updated 10/27/2025 | Published 03/25/2025

Question:

I am getting uneven tire wear on my 2022 Alliance Paradigm 390MP fifth wheel. Need new tires so considering upgrading the suspension prior to new tires to improve ride and hopefully fix the uneven wear issue. Trailer GVWR is 16,800 pounds. It has Dexter 7k lb axles. What all parts would I need to go to the roadmaster comfort ride slipper spring/shock set up? Someone has recommended also adding the moryde x factor cross members. Do you recommend this?

Since you have Dexter 7k axles, the only thing you will need is the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers item # RM-2460-2570. This is by far the best suspension upgrade you can do to your trailer. The benefit of this is you get a more independent suspension on the axles so as one axle goes up over a bump it does not affect the wheel and tire behind it. The system does an amazing job of increasing ride quality, while also decreasing wear and tear on your trailer.

I would not recommend the MORryde X-Factor Crossmember item # MR33WR over the Roadmaster system.

Hey, how did the Roadmaster Comfort Ride suspension kit work out on your Alliance Paradigm? Did it help even out your tire wear and improve the ride quality? Your results could really help others thinking about the same upgrade.
