Hello, and thanks for getting in touch. The Kodiak Disc Brakes # KOD79FR have a Dacromet coating and this is considered a marine grade coating. Kodiak lists the salt spray rating at 300 to 400 hours. Keeping the rotors and calipers clean and dry will help to prolong the life. The only better option would be stainless steel, but those can be a lot more expensive. The Dacromet is durable and typically more cost effective.

Hey, how have the Kodiak Dacromet disc brakes held up on your boat trailer in saltwater? It’d be great to hear if the coating has stayed durable with regular rinsing and maintenance. Your update could make it easier for others using their trailers in similar conditions.
