Question:
My utility trailer does not use lug nuts to hold the wheel on. It uses bolts that screw into the wheel hub through the wheel. Is this wheel AM30820 compatible with these bolts? I got 1.969inch when I measured the wheel hub bore with a caliper. Is the 1.968inch size Bearing Buddy I should order? Are they returnable if they do not fit? The axle spindle and lock nut project a little into the current grease cap. Will the Bearing Buddy fit over them? Thanks.

Expert Reply:
What you have are wheel bolts and a hubcentric hub. This means that the wheels center on the hub using the center pilot hole. The pilot home then has to be exact, otherwise the wheel cannot be properly centered.
The pilot hole on tire and wheel combo # AM30820 is 3.19 inches. Compare that to the pilot hole on the wheels you have to determine if this tire and wheel combo will fit. If it will then you can use it.
There could be slight variations in the measurements for the Bearing Buddies so a 1.968 such as # BB1968 is likely correct. But to be sure and to avoid having to mess with returning anything, I will need the outer bearing number. You should be able to get this without removing the hub. The number should be stamped on the side of the outer bearing.
If the outer bearing number is M-12649 and 07100 then a 1.968 model is correct.
