Question:

My trailer brakes are wired to the Blue and White wires coming from the 7-pin connector. I would like to add a ground to the trailer, do I go directly to the white wire?

Hey Cain, thanks for reaching out!

As long as the white wire is for the ground then yes, you can add a main ground to the white wire on your 7-Way connector and that would be the way to go.

If you aren't sure whether the blue or white is connected to the ground, you can either use a circuit tester # PTW2992 to see which one has 12V power, or you can check out the attached 7-Way pinout diagram to see where your white wire ends up.

Hey Cain, did you get a chance to test the white wire on your 7-way connector to confirm it was the ground? Knowing how that worked out could help others trying to wire their trailer brakes correctly.
