Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 02/21/2025 >
Question:
I am looking to replace a 2 wire Atwood propane detector with either a propane or propane/CO detector. But I need one that will sit recessed into a 2.5in wide X 4in tall opening.

Hey Thomas, the best option would be the RV Safe Propane and Carbon Monoxide Detector part # RS54FR. This fits a slightly larger cut out than what you have which would be pretty easy to enlarge to.

Hey Thomas, how did the fit go with the RV Safe propane and carbon monoxide detector once you enlarged the opening? Knowing how that adjustment worked could help others replacing their old Atwood unit.
