Recommended Sumo Springs and Suspension Enhancement for a Tandem Axle Trailer

Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 02/18/2025

Question:

Hello, Looking at possibly adding Sumo Springs to my travel trailer suspension but not sure which. With it being a tandem axle I assume I need for. Is that correct ? Btw, I have a 2018 Dutchmen Coleman Lantern 1805RB travel trailer. The GVWR is 7600 and the axles are 3000. Thanks

Hey Rodney thanks for the information! Which Sumo Springs you need is going to be determined by the orientation of your axle with how it's mounted to your springs. If your axle's are mounted below your springs you'll need the Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket item # TSS-106-40. If your axle's are mounted above your springs you'll want the Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket -item # TSS-107-40.

You will need two of whichever kit works with your trailer as they're sold per axle. I have linked a couple of review videos below so you can see how to get them set up. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out in the comment box below.

Hey Rodney, how did things go with the SumoSprings for your Coleman Lantern trailer? Did the setup match your axle orientation the way you expected? Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same question.
