Question:
I am custom building a popup camper and plan to run the Timbren 2200 lb suspension ASR1THDS03. I plan on 15 wheels with 5 x 4.5 stud pattern and 31 tires. I estimate that the assembled dry weight will be somewhere between 1200 and 1500 pounds with capacity for 21 gallons of water, propane, etc. Should I step up to the 3.5k lb axles? I also need to know what brakes and hubs would be compatible. I want to use the electric brake function with the mechanical parking brake lever. Thank you!

Hello Casey, thanks for reaching out. It sounds like the 2,200 lb Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR1THDS03 will be sufficient for your build. Even if the GVWR is 1,500 lbs and your water tank is full, you would still be safely under 2,200 lbs, so the suspension would work well for that.
If you want to set them up with parking brake ready electric brakes, you can use the following:
- Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes - Parking Brake Ready - 10" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K # K23-086-087-00
- Easy Grease Trailer Hub/Drum Assembly for 3.5K Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized # AKHD-545-35-G-EZ-K

The manual parking brake lever on this brake kit seems to interfere with the Timbren 4 inch lift bracket. I am not sure how they fit together. I have pictures that I can send if needed. I know this is going back a while, but I just got around to this stage of the build.
