Will etrailer Hitch Cargo Carrier e98874 Fail with 200 lb Generator

Re: cargo carrier e98874 20x60 One review had a 2023 photo of the hitch bent- supposedly by the weight of 200lb generator. Is there currently a reasonable expectation the carrier can safely carry the 500lb it is rated for? Thanks, bill

Hey Bill, so I found the picture and review you mentioned and what you can see in that picture is that it is being used at the rear of a travel trailer which is A LOT rougher than the rear of a vehicle. This is due to the much less sophisticated suspension and the much larger distance between the rear axle of the trailer and the rear of the trailer. This great exaggerates every bump you hit due to the increased leverage this creates. This puts a lot more stress on unsupported loads like hitch accessories and why it failed in this situation.
