Question:
I just bought a 87ish palomino and have it on a 2005 1/2 ton Silverado and the tailgate sticks out past the camper about 6 inches. So will these steps fit on this setup without the tailgate interferring?

Expert Reply:
On the Brophy scissor steps # SS03, they measure just 5-1/2 inches from the mounting surface to the nearest vertical support for the first step so it would not work for you. But you might like hitch step # HE4045 if your truck has a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver. You would use the tailgate as one step then this step as the second step down.
Another option is the Truck-Pal, # 10-3000. This ladder installs on the tailgate and folds out when needed. I have linked some videos for you to check out.
