Is Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack a High Quality E-Bike

Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 02/10/2025

Question:

Hello. I am comparing bike racks. We have two Velotric Discover E bikes. I am interested in getting more specific information on the Hollywood Desination E rack. It is the rack that is available on the Velotric web site. I like all of the features of this rack, but Im concerned about the quality and construction since the recall of the 2022-23 model. Has Hollywood changed the part that was failing? Has the rack construction been updated since the recall? Any current, up to date info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

Hey Jayne, we have had really good feedback on the Hollywood Racks Destination bike rack part # HLY66ZR. It was updated since the timeframe you mentioned and it is now a very solid bike rack. The reputation for Hollywood Racks bike racks is that they are very solid and sturdy while also not costing as much as similar quality racks so I would highly recommend it. They updated a good portion of their bike racks since the date range you mentioned as well.

Hey Jayne, how did things turn out with the updated Hollywood Destination E rack for your Velotric bikes? It sounds like the newer version addressed the earlier issues, so I’m curious how it’s been holding up for you. Your feedback could help others comparing racks after the recall.

@JamesonC Hello! The bike rack is great. We had also spoken to the bike shop where we purchased our ebikes, he also said he thought they addressed the prior issue. We are quite happy with the rack, all of the features are handy and easy to use. Taken it on some long trips, at this point, would definitely recommend this rack!
