Question:

I have the Roadmaster Stowmaster system currently on my Colorado, will this base plate fit my 2025 Maverick and allow me to continue to use the Stowmaster 5000?

Hey Michael, so you can use your Stowmaster part # RM-501 to flat tow your 2025 Ford Maverick but you have to use a crossbar style base plate kit like the part # RM37RR since your Stowmaster can't be used with the Direct Connect style of base plate. Unless you'd be interested in a new tow bar as well.

@Michael The removable arms you have from your old base plate will not work. They are all made to different dimensions based on the vehicle they fit so they are not interchangeable.

I am confused you say the listed base plate will work on my 2025 and I can use my currently owned Stow Master 50000 however when I click on the RM -37RR it says it does not fit the 2025 Maverick. The RM97RR is shown as fitting the 2025 Maverick I have the removable arms that were used on the base plate that fit my 2021 Colorado will they work With RM97 so I can use it with my stow master ? The RM 37 shows it works with yhe 24 Maverick I really don't want to purchase a tow bar and a base plate of I can help It Thank you

@MichaelL Our fit info is a little outdated but I checked with Roadmaster and that base plate does for sure fit the 2025 models. Sorry for any confusion there! The removable arms you have now will not work on your new vehicle. They are all made to fit the vehicles too along with the frame mounted portion of the base plate so they are not interchangeable.

@Michael For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.
