Leaf Spring Recommendation for 2015 Shorelandr that is Rust Resistant

Updated 02/04/2025 | Published 02/03/2025

Question:

Hello, I need help finding rust-resistant springs and disc brakes for my 2015 Shorelandr dual axle trailer, model SEB50TBBS/55TBBS. My current springs are one open eye c-slipper and measure 24 3/4 bolt to bolt. Would these work: etrailer Rust-Resistant 5-Leaf Double Eye Spring for 6K Trailer Axles - 25-1/4 Long - Dacromet Part Number: e78SR

Hey Josh, I have a solution for you but the spring you mentioned would be too long. Instead you'd want the part # e56FV which is 24-7/8 inches long, is also Dacromet coated and is for a 7k axle. What is your axle capacity? With that I can help you determine what disc brake components you need if you are still looking for that.

Each axle is 3,500 lbs, 7k total trailer capacity. The springs are 5 leaf . I've got a Dexter A-60 dual disc brake surge actuator that also needs to be replaced. Should I stay with the c-Hook / one-eye style, or move to a two-eye spring? Thanks for the help!

@Josh I prefer the double eye setup. There is less friction in the way they move and replacement parts are a little more standardized and easy to find. You would need a hanger kit for that too like with the # APT8.

@Josh Are you wanting to stick with surge brakes? What all of the disc parts do you need replaced?
