Where Should I Install the Brackets for Mount-n-Lock RV Bumper on My 2015 Gulf Stream Vista Cruiser?

Updated 01/30/2025 | Published 01/29/2025

Question:

The frame on my 2015 Gulfstream Vista cruiser is a rectangular tube thats 2x5inches. Do I mount the brackets at the top, middle or bottom? Will the resulting gap collect rainwater?

Hello Tom,

When installing the Mount-n-Lock Heavy-Haul'r Standard Duty Replacement RV Bumper - 4.0" - 500 lbs - Mill # MNT78VR it doesn't really matter where they are installed whether it's high, medium, or low just as long as all 4 bolt holes in the brackets are mounted to the frame, and the weight is distributed. As for the water, being a tube some rainwater will get in unless you cap it off, but I wouldn't suggest doing that as having the holes is a good idea to let it breath in there. Cutting the tube at a “backward angle” (where the top of the tube sticks out further than the bottom) will help with this, but it won’t prevent it entirely. I attached an install video for you to check out.

How long have had the Vista Cruiser? Any fun trips planned this year?
