What Hardware do I Need to Install my Curt # 31014 Front Hitch on My 2003 Ford F-250

Updated 01/14/2025 | Published 01/13/2025

Question:

I have installed your front trailer hitch c31014. There are 2 bolts that go into 2 5/16 holes. There was no hardware with the hitch so Can you please tell me the type and size bolts that I need to buy for those. Thanks

Hello Mike,

I am sorry to hear that your received your front hitch without the needed hardware. We are not actually Curt, but we do sell a lot of their products. For the bolts I see that it takes (2) HHTFS, 3/8-16 UNC,1-1/4, GRD5ZP. To break that down a little for you:

- HHTFS: Hex Head Thread Forming Screw

- 3/8-16 UNC: Thread size and pitch (3/8 inch diameter, 16 threads per inch, Unified National Coarse)

- 1-1/4: Length of the screw (1.25 inches)

- GRD5: Grade 5 (medium carbon steel, quenched and tempered)

- ZP: Zinc Plated (corrosion-resistant coating)

If you cannot find them locally we do sell replacement hardware, you will want # RHK and then put in your hitch number (31014) before adding it to the cart. I would maybe reach out to the where you got the front hitch from and see if it was supposed to come with the hardware.

What do you plan on using the front hitch for?

Thanks for your help Kate. Just contacted the curt factory for those missing bolts they are shipping them out. I did notice that when I put my truck info into your system, 2002 ford excursion it said that the curt front receiver hitch 31014 would not fit my rig. It was a perfect fit! Did not know if this would be helpful to future buyers

@MikeL I am glad they were able to get the hardware to you, as they are not cheap! Thanks for the heads up on the 31014, I will be passing that information over to our fitguide team. Hope you have a great day!
