Question:

Good morning, I have a 2022 Ford transit Connect XLT. It came with no roof rails but the slots for them are there. I am trying to place a roof platform on top hold a solar panel and some cargo. What do you recommend for the rails and which platform, ive considered the modular platform as well as the rhino. It will mostly be used for work equipment, but I am outfitting the interior for sleeping for long trips and camping. Thank you, Travis

Hey Travis, thanks for reaching out. The best platform option for your 2022 Ford Transit Connect XLT is going to be the Front Runner Slimline II Platform Rack # FR53FV. This is a 109-1/8" x 58" platform so you get full coverage of the roof. It connects directly to the fixed mounting points or "slots" on the roof. The crossmembers on the platform have T-tracks which you can use to mount accessories like a solar panel or any other track mount accessory.

Personally, I do prefer the FrontRunner platform over the Rhino Rack from a quality and durability standpoint. Plus the Rhino platform would require installation of a roof rack with crossbars, whereas the FrontRunner mounts directly to the roof. It will be a lot less parts to deal with and probably a lot less headache too.
