Question:
I have a Trailerman Single Axle Trailer with a GAWR of 2990 lbs. VIN 5L3AX1218CL001182 Trailer Type: UST6012N35 W/O 14204.. I recently found that i have a leaf spring broken. Trailerman doesnt carry this part and recommended Etrailer for assistance. I measured my good spring while installed on the trailer. This leaf spring is a 2 wide double eye style, 4 leaf stack with 1-1/2 thickness, CL of eyes measures about 25-3/8 likely 25-1/4 actually, may have spring from use. Can you help me find something that will work for this trailer.

Hello Brett,
I am sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time finding this leaf spring. We do not have anything that is rated that low in a 2" wide. In fact we only have 2 different leaf springs in 2" wide and neither are even a double eye. Your best bet is going to be to swap out your hangers to a 1 3/4" like the Single-Axle Trailer Hangers for Double-Eye Springs - 1-1/2" Front, 7/8" Rear # DX44CR, then you would be able to use the # DX83CR. I know that you mentioned that yours is a 4 leaf, I promise the 3 leaf will be just fine. When changing out one leaf spring it is recommended to swap out both, it's like car tires and needing to change 2 instead of just one. I know that changing out the hangers is not the answer you were looking for seeing how they need to be welded on, but I don't see you being able to find a 2" wide spring in the specs you are looking for. For the measuring, you are 100% correct they do stretch out quite a bit over time. Another thing that also stretches over time is the U-bolts so it is also recommended to swap those out when you put on the new leaf springs as well. With your axle being rated right under 3k you are going to need to measure to see what set you need, if your axle measures 1 3/4" axle # CE23000, for 2 3/8" # CE23002.
I am sorry we don't have the specific part you were looking for, if you happen to find it somewhere else please let me know where you found it. I hope 2025 is an awesome year for you! From, your friends here at etrailer!

Hey Brett, how did things go with swapping the hangers and using the 3-leaf springs on your Trailerman trailer? Were you able to get everything fitted and riding smoothly again? Your update could make it easier for others facing the same issue.
