Did Blue Ox Change the Chains on the Spring Bars for the SwayPro? Why is it kicking out?
Updated 11/03/2025 | Published 01/05/2025 >
Question:
Hi, I purchase a set of blue ox 750lbs replacement springs. The chains seem a little heavier than the original and binds in the brackets. So as you release it, it rotates about a 1/3 of the way and then the chain snaps out of the bracket. It gives a really big kick at that point. Is there a lighter chain or do you have any suggestions? Thanks

Hello Steve,
I am very sorry to hear that you are having issues with your new spring bars. This is the first I have heard of this issue so I reached out to me contact at Blue Ox. Steve assured me that they have used the same chains since the Swaypro came out, and there is no other option for chains. I have attached an image that shows how to lock the chains in place for the # BXW4006, I also attached a video where you will see at 4 mins and 10 seconds in they will attach chains to the brackets. I would go out an follow the steps once more, if it is still acting up please let me know.
I hope 2025 brings you many awesome adventures! From, your friends here at etrailer!

Hey Steve, how did things go after you followed the video steps for locking the chains on your Blue Ox spring bars? Did that help stop the binding and snapping you were seeing? Your update could make it easier for others working with the same setup.
