Will Furrion Chill Cube Replace Standard Furrion Chill RV AC Unit
Updated 04/23/2025 | Published 12/31/2024 >
Question:
Can this Furrion Chill Cube be a direct replacement for a Furrion Chill unit? I have a 2024 Brinkley Z3100. It has a Chill Cube in the main living area love it and a standard Chill unit in the bedroom hate it. I would like to change out the bedroom unit to a Chill Cube if the existing holes and everything would be a direct swap. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hey Martin, yes the Furrion Chill Cube AC Unit part # FR59TD that you referenced is a direct replacement for the standard Chill unit you have on your Brinkley. It would be a direct replacement too so it would be nice and easy.
I am interested in hearing what it is about the Cube that you like so much more if you don't mind sharing?

While doing this upgrade at the highest point of the RV what is the net increase in overall height? Most Z fifth wheels float between 13.2'-13.5' overall height. Concerned this might be easily removed by the interstate obstacles lol

Hey Jameson. Thank you for the prompt reply. The Chill Cube is excellent, whisper quiet, has a really nice remote control. Best of all, the remote can serve as the temperature sensor wherever you place it in your room. It is a beautiful and intelligently designed unit. Conversely, the standard Chill is very loud (not good for sleeping) and the temperature sensor is located inside the actual air distribution unit....not at the wall mounted thermostat. This makes controlling the room temperature impossible and the AC unit tends to short cycle because the sensor is right at the cold air output vent. Not a very good engineering design.
