Can OptiMate Smart Battery Charger MA99JR Be Used To Trickle Charge Battery During Winter Months?

Question:
Could this be used to trickle charge/ maintain a starting/ main battery off of a leisure battery. The leisure battery is solar charged and this could maintain the starting batteries over the winter months when the vehicle isn’t used much. 2006 Ford F450 Ambulance/camper conversion.

Hello Phil; yes, the OptiMate Smart Battery Charger # MA99JR can indeed be used to maintain a charge on your main battery during the winter months. It will provide charging from your 12 volt solar batteries as long as the voltage is above 11 volts on the solar batteries.
