The install was fairly straight forward. I followed the instructions and really the hardest part was enlarging the hole to feed the bracket and bolt. The videos on Youtube for the Chevrolet Blazer EV helped even though I was installing on a Cadillac Lyriq. It does stick out below the rear lower fascia but not any lower than the lowest part of the vehicle. I am just using this hitch for a bicycle rack. I did not connect a wiring harness for lights.
