Should SumoSpring Setup be Used with Roadmaster Comfort Ride Kit Upgrade
Updated 11/17/2025 | Published 12/03/2024 >
Question:
I currently have the stock 7k axles and springs with added Sumo Springs on my GD 328m. I am about to swap it out with 8k axles and Roadmaster 8k slipper springs with comfort ride. My question is should I reinstall the Sumo Springs with the Roadmaster? Pros/Cons? Dos/Donts? Will it benefit the Roadmaster or could it hinder its performance in any way?

Hey Mike, this is a great question but since you are upgrading to a higher capacity axle and suspension setup I would not reinstall the SumoSpring kit at first and just run the Comfort RIde part # RM-2470-2580 and see what you think. I believe you'll be happy with it as-is. The SumoSpring kit could overspring the setup basically and make it pretty stiff and harsh.

Hey Mike, how did the ride feel after you swapped to the 8k axles and ran the Comfort Ride without the SumoSprings? Your feedback could really help others thinking about the same upgrade path.
