Question:
How do I connect the two leads from the LED to the brake light switch on a 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid. Can you provide a description and photos of the exact color wires on the brake light switch I will need to connect the two leads to. Be advised, I also need to connect a brake light relay to the brake light switch as well. The Etrailer video showing the install of the Demco Stay and Play system doesnt show where exactly and how to connect these two leads to the break light switch in the Ford Maverick Hybrid used in the video. Note, I will be towing my Maverick behind my motor home and I purchased the Demco Stay and Play for a motor home with hydraulic brakes. This led will be mounted on the front facing side of the rear view mirror of my Maverick facing the rv so It can be seen in the back up camera on my motor home. Thank you

Hello Ralph, thanks for reaching out. The LED indicator included with your Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System # SM99251 should be connected to the cold side of the brake switch. We do not have any diagrams or photos that show the exact wire color for this so your best bet will be to use a wire tester and poke around until you find the wire that is normally cold, but has 12v power only when the brake pedal is pressed. A dealership may be able to tell you the exact wire color, otherwise your best bet will be to use a tester like part # PTW2993 to find the correct wire. The red wire goes to the cold side of the brake switch.

Hey Ralph, were you able to find the correct cold-side wire on your Maverick’s brake switch for the LED connection? Knowing which wire worked could really help others setting up their Demco Stay-IN-Play system on the same vehicle. Your update could make it easier for the next person with this setup.
