Will BoatBuckle Protective Boat Pads Work With Erickson 2" Ratchet Straps

Hello, I bought a pair of the Erickson 2” retractable ratchet straps for my boat/trailer. When in use the ratchet itself can bang and rub into the boat. I’m looking for some sort of protector that I can use for the ratchet to protect my boat. I don’t need protection for the straps themselves, but the actual ratchet piece. Will these BoatBuckle Boat pads below work? Thanks! BoatBuckle Protective Boat Pads for 2 Wide Tie-Down Straps - Qty 2

Hi Mike; you can use the BoatBuckle Protective Boat Pads # IMF13180 with your Erickson Ratchet straps as long as it is large enough. I don't know the exact Erickson straps you have but the pads measure 3" wide x 7" tall x 1/8" thick. As long as it can sit on the pad with those dimensions it will work.
Using the pad will be just like having the BoatBuckle Pro Series Ratcheting Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF18740 which come with the pad sitting right under the ratchet mechanism. If you find that the dimensions are too small we also have the Durabilt Ratchet and Winch Strap Protective Sleeve # DU54MR. This is 5-7/8" wide x 12" long with 8-3/8" between the openings.

Thanks Robin. These are the straps I have: Erickson Re-Tractable Ratchet Straps w/ Push Button Releases - 2" x 6' - 1,333 lbs - Qty 2 Part Number: 34414 I don’t have the straps with me at the moment so I’m not sure how wide the ratchet piece is.
