Question:

I just bought a new 2021 Forest River Hemisphere HL 19RBHL 23 foot travel Trailer. I noticed it has a grey water AND black water discharge connections about 12 feet apart from each other. then its about 10 feet to the sewer. what all parts and pieces do I need please? lol thanks in advance for your help. I love your site and you have been highly recommended. Im going to be getting a lot of stuff from you guys.

Dumping tanks is probably an RV owner’s least favorite task but truth is it is really not all that bad. You will need the proper connections to your tank, hose, and the waste station connections. There are multiple options of each but I suggest the Camco RhinoEXTREME RV sewer hoses # CAM39867. This will work great to dispose the waste from your RV to the camp sites dump station. And by the way, I recommend not staying connected to the waste tank all the time with valves open as this can cause "the business" to not drain properly because it will never have the right amount of water force to flush the solid contents of the holding tanks and it leaves the opportunity for hazardous fumes to enter the RV. It is recommended to drain your black/grey water systems when 3/4 full for the best drainage if not all the way full. If you are concerned about the unpleasant smell, I would recommend one of our tank treatments to prevent odor like the # CAM41195 citrus scent liquid treatment. The # CAM39867 is two, 10' hoses that includes swivel bayonet, lug, and elbow fittings, a 4-in-1 adapter, and storage caps. Take a look at the attached video.

If you need the waste hoses, am I correct that you probably need a fresh water hose too, a great one for that is the Camco # CAM22833. I always use a Pressure Regulator such as the Valterra High Flow Water Regulator, # A01-2222 too. There are many options, this one has a 90 degree angle to it is what I like because personally, I also use the AquaFresh Exterior RV Water Filter, # A01-1132VP as well so the angle works for stress relieve on the hose. The main thing is that you do not want excessive pressure from a campground water source bursting the pipes in your new camper.
