What Size Channel Does My Trailer Coupler Have?
Updated 12/15/2025 | Published 11/12/2024 >
Question:
Instructions for ordering correct coupler latch says to measure width of channel. Can you provide a diagram or photo of where to exactly measure the channel, and what/where is “the channel” ? I have an A frame coupler that is standard factory issue on my Casita 17’ travel trailer. Thanks in advance…

Hello Gary.
The channel width would be the width of the frame that the coupler installs on. I am attaching an image of the Bulldog Collar-Lok Coupler w/ Pin # BD028243 so you can see what measurement they are referencing. In the image provided this one would be a 3" channel because that is the inside to inside measurement.
I have also included a link the all the coupler latch repair kits that we offer.

Hey Gary, did the image of the Bulldog coupler help you see where to measure the channel on your Casita’s A-frame coupler? Knowing how that measurement worked out could help others trying to match their latch repair kit.
