On a Yakima Hangout 2 how far apart should the arms that touch the care be on a 2012 Nissan Cube and where do you measure from

Hi David; Yakima lists the HangOut 2 # Y02637 measurement as 16-7/8" for the 2012 Nissan Cube. You measure from the inside edge of the tubes as seen in the picture below. I also attached the complete written instructions further down on this page for your reference.
