What Locking Pins Should I Use With B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount BW49FR

Updated 12/15/2025 | Published 11/04/2024

Question:

How do you keep it secure? I have a key lock pin which would keep the base safe but what about the other pins? Would you need a locking pin to secure the balls and another one to keep the swing away portion secured?

Hello Bruce, thanks for reaching out. Technically you can use a total of 4 locking pins for the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount # BW49FR. One for the receiver, one to secure the ball and two to lock the ball platform to the shank. You can get away with doing just one pin for locking the ball to the shank, but a lot of people will just do two out of an abundance of caution. We actually offer lock sets specifically for this purpose. Here is what I recommend:

Hey Bruce, how did things go with the InfiniteRule locking pins for your Tow & Stow ball mount? Did using all four locks give you the security setup you wanted? Your experience could point others in the right direction.
