Question:

Will this unit be compatible with a Vevor 5,500 lbs drawbar? I am not sure if the piece will join up.

Hello Robert.

I reached out to Roadmaster and they have not been able to test the Vevor tow bars with the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 131-8 so they cannot recommend using that tow bar with their baseplate.

With that being said, I would recommend using a different tow bar. The Roadmaster Sterling All-Terrain Tow Bar - Non-Binding - RV Mount - 2" Hitch # RM-576, these tow bars are rated up to 8,000 lbs so they would work great for your 2022 GMC Sierra. If you do decide to go with these tow bars don't forget to order the Roadmaster 80" Hybrid Coiled-to-Straight Safety Cables - Double Hook - 10,000 lbs - Qty 2 # RM-674.

Can you guarrantee that this plate will fit as advertised? I had a look and not sure about how it goes on. Does it bolt to the bottom of the frame?

@RobertA Great question. For your 2002 GMC Sierra the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 131-8 will bolt directly to the vehicles frame. To ensure fitment you must measure holes on bottom and side of frame for correct bracket. This bracket requires 3" between holes. Measurement must be taken from the centerpoint of the lower-most threaded hole, on the side of frame, to a center-line dissecting the rear-most elongated hole on the bottom of the frame. If you go on the product page there is an image under features where you can locate these holes, I will also email the image to you.
