Hello Carl, thanks for getting in touch. There are a few different reasons you could be having this issue with your Furrion backup camera. First, check and make sure the camera antenna is fitted correctly. It needs to be positioned vertically. It could be because there is too much distance between the camera and the monitor so reduce that if possible. There may also be interference from other electrical appliances that is affecting the wireless signal. Another thing to try is unpairing the monitor and camper and then pair them again.

Some newer vehicles have a power draw issue because of the way they are wired. In these cases the 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter w/ Power Switch for Furrion RV Observation Camera # FR87PR provides the additional power required for your Furrion Vision S RV observation camera system to function properly.

Two things here Jess, I already have a Bluetooth power brake control that hooks into the seven prong adapter so I’m not so sure that this adapter will work with that. Let me know.

@CarlG Gotcha. I do not recommend using the adapter I mentioned if you have the Bluetooth brake controller plugged into your 7-way. Only one such device can be used at once. What I recommend using instead is the 12V PWM Filter for RV Backup Camera Systems - Hardwire # VGR64VR. This is a more permanent solution that will allow you to continue to use your Bluetooth controller. This will splice into your cameras wiring.

@JesseM It’s so strange. I’m like within 4 feet of the camera with the monitor and I’ll get a flash of the back up and then it goes away. It says no signal it’s crazy. I don’t know that that filter you’re talking about will be the answer to this problem what’s been your

@CarlG I have heard of the PWM filter being used on some Volkswagen models, but I will be honest, at this point I cannot say with 100% certainty that it will fix your issue. Generally when we see signal issues with the Furrion systems it is related to the power. Like it is just not getting enough power to work normally and this sounds like what you are describing. With the monitor and camera being that close together I do not think distance or signal interference is the issue. The best thing to do would be to verify if your Volkswagen uses PWM or not. The filter basically provides a steady current and it sounds like this is what you are missing.
