Updated 01/05/2026 | Published 09/24/2024

Question:

Hi. Im trying to find the tire size for an Aristocrat Land Commander. The rim size is 14. There is a car tire on there now and that size is P187/70R14. Hopefully that is enough information. Thank you!

Hi Crystal,

Definitely smart to change from the passenger tires you have now, and the right tire is going to depend on the clearance you have and the overall size of the rim. If you have 14" x 5", 14" x 5-1/2", 14" x 6", or 14" x 6-1/2" rims a good option could be the Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10235.

You likely have that rim size, but I say "could" because that depends on the clearances you have. Your current tires are 24.2" diameter and 7.3" wide, while the # AM10235 is 26.1" wide and 8.1" diameter.

With trailer tires, the general rule of thumb is you want 2"-3" of clearance from the top of the tire to your fender and at least 1" of clearance between the inside of the tire and your trailer's frame rail. Tires that are ST205/75R14 will add about an inch of height and will be about 1/2" closer to the frame, so you just want to make sure you still have the proper clearance; if so, these will work for you.

Hey Crystal, how did things turn out with the Karrier ST205/75R14 tires for your Aristocrat Land Commander? Did the clearances around the fender and frame work out as expected? Your update could make it easier for others checking tire sizes on similar trailers.
