Can I Apply XTRM Universal Self-Leveling Sealant onto EternaBond Residue?

Question:
I am installing my Maxair fan. The previous fan was sealed with EternaBond tape and Butyl tape. I am having tough time completely removing EternaBond tape residue. Can I apply Xtrmply self leveling caulk onto the EternaBond residule?

Hey Mark you can apply the LaSalle Bristol XTRM Universal Self-Leveling Sealant item # 34427034145-1 over the residue but it's best to get as much off as possible. If you use a metal tool, like a putty knife, heating it up will help remove the excess residue. Using mineral spirits is another good way to get the residue to come loose.
